When I practice braiding cornrows on a baby doll with straight hair, it looks pretty good, but Ruby's hair keeps getting curled up, tangled, and fuzzed out as I go, even though it's damp. I hope I can improve with practice, but this is the best I can do. Any advice...anyone?

OMG I couldn't even begin to do anything comparable to that...poor addis. She will have puffs forever.. and her puffs are usually uneven...
I think they look great! You know what they say...PRACTICE makes PERFECT!
I totally suck at cornrows... don't even try anymore. You know those creepy bodiless barbies with just the huge head and arms to fix hair and do nails? I tried and tried and tried with her. I had her in a headlock between my knees, pulling and braiding. It's just not the same. Yours look great!
That's about what mine look like on Beza. The braiding looks great. I think it's more about the product. My friend is hairstylist and she said that the girls with ethnic hair mix up some wild concoction of oils and grease, etc and then just totally cake the hair or something. I've got to find someone who can help me figure out what they put in it.
Rebecca,
That is REALLY good. The more you do it, the easier it will become. You should be proud of yourself!
Pratice makes perfect!!!! I think they look pretty hot, over time you get better.
